Planning a family trip to Nusa Penida? Timing is crucial to avoid missing your boat. Fast boats from Sanur leave on time or even earlier, so it's important to arrive 30–45 minutes before departure. Factor in traffic, especially if you're coming from Seminyak or Ubud, which can take 45 minutes to an hour.

Booking your tickets in advance is highly recommended, particularly during school holidays or December peaks when seats sell out quickly. Online booking can save you time and stress at the dock.

When boarding, be prepared to walk through knee-deep water. Wearing flip-flops and using waterproof bags can help keep you dry. Also, travel light as space on the boat is limited; consider leaving large bags at your hotel.

On Nusa Penida, reliable ride-hailing services like Grab or Go-Jek are not available. Families often hire a driver for comfort and safety. Additionally, don't forget essentials like motion sickness tablets, sunscreen, and cash to make your trip more comfortable.
